After wining Game 5 at home the Kam River Fighting Walleye made the long road trip across Northwestern Ontario and up the 105 to face the Red Lake Miners at the Cochenour Arena. A jammed packed barn with loud cheering fans looking to witness a victory on home gave the Miners more energy when it was time for puck drop. With 2 straight wins Eric Vanska would start in net for the Walleye while Jaxson Taupert would make his playoff debut for the Miners.
The crowd would get something to cheer about early in the first period when Nic Bolin banged home a rebound past Vanska at 3:59 for his third of the post season. Colton Crysler split the defence and beat Taupert on the breakaway for his first of the post season at 6:46 to tie the game at 1. Noah Kramps would put the Miners back up by 1 at 14:10 scoring his second of the postseason on a nice feed from Ethan Pool. After 20 minutes the Miners lead 2-1 and have a shot lead of 13-11.
Jordan Baranesky would give the Miners a two goal lead at 4:46 of the second period scoring his eighth of the postseason for a 3 to 1 lead. The Walleye would have 2 power play chances in the second while the Miners had three chances but neither side could get past the goalie. After 40 Minutes the Miners lead 3-1 on the scoreboard and are outshooting the Walleye 29-18.
Jeremey Dunmore scored his 6th or the postseason at 2:42 of the third period to pull the Walleye within 1 putting the puck in the open cage after a nice feed from Fortin. Eric Vanska made some big saves to keep the Miners from scoring while Jaxson Taupert would do the same for the Miners. With just over a minute left Matt Valley called his time out trying to get his team in a position to tie the game and Vanska came out for the extra attacker shortly after. The Walleye would get the puck into the Miners zone but unable to get a good shot off before Nic Bolin made a diving swipe to knock the puck out of the zone. 25 seconds left on the clock and the face-off is to the right of Taupert. after chipping the puck out and it coming back in the zone Brandon Rossetti had the puck on his stick and got it out and down the ice to seal the win for the Miners.
