Miners beat Lumberjacks at home

The Wisconsin Lumberjacks should be called Road Warriors.  A trek up Hwy 105 would see them playing their 10th road game of the season at the Cochenour Arena. Tyler Swanson would get the start in net for the Lumberjacks while Cole Wheaton got the nod for the Miners.

Brock Weimer would get the visitors on the board first carrying the puck end to end before beating Wheaton for his first goal of the season at 10:33.  Brady Harroun would even the score  at 1 beating Swanson with a wrist shot for his 6th of the season. The Lumberjacks would pull ahead again at 14:56 when Jack Eckholm scored his second.  Noah Kramps would tie it up at 2 redirecting a Kenyon Nyman point shot at 18:16.  Just 6 second later Jordan Baranesky would put the Miners ahead ripping a wrist shot past Swanson.   After 20 minutes of play the Miners hold a 3-2 edge on the scoreboard and outshoot the Lumberjacks 19-11 in the period.

The Miners would strike first in the second period when Lucas Piekarczyk notched his 10th of the season at 4:01. Ryan Hunter scored his first as a Miner at 4:52 to make it 5-2 Miners. Zach Carson’s power play tally at 8:45 would get the Lumberjacks back within 2.  Ryan Hunter would score his second of the night at 11:30 to make it 6-3 Miners. 45 seconds later Ryder McMillen scored his 3rd of the season to make it 6-4. Jordan Baranesky would finish off the scoring in the second period with just 1 second left on the clock breaking free off a Kenyon Nyman stretch pass. After 4o minutes of play the Miners lead 7-3.

Rylin Philpott-Way would open the third period scoring at 3:49 scoring his first of the season.  Jordan Baranesky would complete his hat trick at 7:32 for his 9th of the season. Noah Kramps would finish of the scoring with a shorthanded marker at 15:22.
