THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Wisconsin Lumberjacks goaltender Hunter Adams has been named its Play It Again Sports Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 2.
Making two starts for the rolling Lumberjacks, the 19-year-old netminder from Arlington, Texas was peppered with 92 shots against and stopped all but four of them to post a solid .957 save percentage while backstopping his side to two of the three victories they recorded last week in decisions over Thief River Falls and Dryden.
Adams, who has won each of his past six appearances, has played a big part in seeing Wisconsin go 8-0-1-0 in their previous nine outings as the expansion side continues to rack up triumphs.
Also earning consideration for player of the week honours were Spencer Milne, (F) Red Lake Miners; Jack Michels (F) Thief River Falls Norskies; Cody Bruchkowski, (F) Thunder Bay North Stars; Parker James, (D) Dryden GM Ice Dogs and Kyle Uzelman, (F) Fort Frances Lakers.
