THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Tuesday that Wisconsin Lumberjacks goaltender Hunter Adams has been named its Play It Again Sports Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 12.
In three starts for the expansion Lumberjacks during the time frame, the 19-year-old netminder from Arlington, Texas, faced an average of 43 shots against per contest and backstopped his side to a pair of victories.
His efforts saw him finish the week with a .914 save percentage on the 128 shot attempts he saw fired his way.
Through his first nine SIJHL appearances, Adams has a 4-4-0 record along with a save mark of .922.
Also earning consideration for player of the week honours were Ethan Stuckless, (F) Red Lake Miners; Cody Bruchkowski, (F) Thunder Bay North Stars; Dylan Winsor, (F) Dryden GM Ice Dogs and Connor Kalthoff, (D) Thief River Falls Norskies.
Note: The Fort Frances Lakers did not play last week, thus did not have a nominee for the weekly honours.
