League-leading North Stars roll over Iron Rangers

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Ben Erwin and Ryan Mignault both scored four times while Joel Willan had a hat trick and three assists as the Thunder Bay North Stars went on to blast a short-staffed Minnesota Iron Rangers 14-0 in a Superior International Junior Hockey League match-up Wednesday evening at the Fort William Gardens.

Mignault and Alex Erwin kicked off the offensive outburst with first period tallies.

The North Stars then erupted for seven markers in the middle stanza with Willan and Mignault tallying twice while Jacob Anttonen, Alex Maticic and Ben Erwin added singles.

Thunder Bay then finished off the romp with five more in the third as Ben Erwin scored three times while Mignault and Willan finished off their four-goal games.

Nine different North Stars skaters had multi-point outings in the win while Brock Aiken made 24 stops to post his second shutout of the season.
