Lakers stay 7th in CJHL rankings

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Fort Frances Lakers of the Superior International Junior Hockey League have maintained their place in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League Pointstreak top 20 rankings, which were released Monday.

The SIJHL-leading Lakers were once again slotted seventh in the 131-team CJHL in the weekly rankings, which are compiled in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

Heading into the SIJHL Showcase Tuesday through Thursday in Hoyt Lakes and Virginia, Minn., Fort Frances continues to top the league standings with a solid 28-6-0-1 mark and 57 points.

The reigning Dudley-Hewitt Cup title-holding Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL) remain No. 1 in the CJHL for a second straight week.

Meanwhile the Penticton Vees (BCHL) stay at No. 2 and the defending RBC Cup national Jr. A champion Portage Terriers (MJHL) have moved up to No. 3.
