Lakers’ Robertson named Amyotte’s Awards & Promotions player of the week
THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Fort Frances Lakers forward Dylan Robertson has been named the Amyotte’s Awards & Promotions Corp. player of the week for the period ending Feb. 7.
In two games during the week that was the 20-year-old native of Atlanta, Georgia supplied four points in a pair of victories for the league-leading Lakers.
Robertson began with a pair of goals and an assist on the game-winner as Fort Frances defeated Minnesota 7-4 on Friday.
One night later he struck shorthanded, collecting his 24th tally of the season, as the Lakers blanked English River 4-0.
Currently riding a seven-game point streak, Robertson paces all SIJHL skaters in offensive production with 53 points in 36 games, including 29 assists.
He is also tied for the league-lead in game-winning markers with five.
Also earning consideration for Amyotte’s player of the week honours was Braedyn Allkins, (F) Dryden GM Ice Dogs; Korlan Vader, (G) English River Miners; Keaton Huot, (F) Minnesota Iron Rangers and Nicholas Nigro, (F) Thunder Bay North Stars.
