Lakers’ Loveday named SIJHL Play It Again Sports Player of the Week

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Fort Frances Lakers captain Noah Loveday has been selected its Play It Again Sports Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 6.

In two games during the time frame, the 20-year-old Fort Frances product supplied the game-winning goal in both contests and registered five points in total.

His overall performance saw him tally three times and dish out a pair of assists in the pair of Lakers’ victories.

Entering play this week, riding a four-game point streak, Loveday is well on pace to establish career single-season highs in goals, assists and points in 2019-20.

Also earning consideration for player of the week honours were Jordan Smith, (G) Thunder Bay North Stars; Rajvir Sangha, (D) Red Lake Miners; Justin Pitari, (F) Dryden GM Ice Dogs; Mason McIntosh, (F) Thief River Falls Norskies; Cade Moreland, (F) Wisconsin Lumberjacks.
