Lakers; Iron Rangers crack CJHL top 20 rankings

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced their first in-season Pointstreak top 20 rankings for 2015-16 and a pair of Superior International Junior Hockey League clubs have earned recognition.

The two-time defending Bill Salonen Cup SIJHL champion Fort Frances Lakers were ranked eighth overall in the 131-team CJHL while the Minnesota Iron Rangers were tabbed 20th.

Fort Frances is undefeated early on in league play with a 3-0 record while Minnesota currently tops the SIJHL standings with 10 points sporting a 5-1 mark.

The Alberta Junior Hockey League boasts the top two squads in the CJHL rankings with the Spruce Grove Saints and Lloydminster Bobcats sitting one-two respectively.

Rounding out the top three is the Trenton Golden Hawks of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
