Lakers’ Bodnar blanks Miners

FORT FRANCES, Ont. – Brandon Bodnar turned aside all 21 shots he faced for his second shutout of the season while rookie Cole Tymkin tallied twice on the power play to help lead the Fort Frances Lakers to a 4-0 win over the English River Miners Saturday in Superior International Junior Hockey League action at Ice for Kids Arena.

Ryley Bosman made it 2-0 a couple minutes later while Dylan Robertson struck shorthanded at 18:52 to put the home side up by three.

Tymkin notched his second on the power play at 11:37 of the second, which turned out to be the final goal of the evening.

Christian Ripley had two assists in aid the Lakers cause.

Korlan Vader stopped 31 of 35 in defeat for English River.
