The Dryden Ice Dogs had 2 power play goals and a short handed goal en route to a 7-3 win over the Red Lake Miners.

Dryden would open up scoring on the power play at 5:28 on Bryce Benfield’s 10th of the season. Miners would tie the game at 13:45 when Luke DeCorby was sprung free and beat Ice Dog goalie Zac MacDonald. A very offensive period for both sides had the Ice Dogs out shooting the Miners 22-20 but after 20 minutes the game was still tied at 1.

Jordan Pfoh’s power play goal at 5:18 would put the Ice Dogs back in front by 1.  Brennan Blatz would score his first goal as a Miner at 8:15 to tie the game at 2.  Goals by Kody Norberg, James Hooton and Landen Stromme would put the Ice Dogs up 5-2 after forty minutes of play.

Brennan Blatz’s  second of the night at 3:00 of the third period would give the Miners fans some hope with a 5-3 score. Ben Hackl and James Hooton’s second of the evening would end all hope for Miners fans.  Final score Ice Dogs 7 Miners 3.
