GM Ice Dogs’ Coutre named SIJHL Play It Again Sports Player of the Week

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Cameron Coutre of the Dryden GM Ice Dogs has been named its Play It Again Sports Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 16.

In two games last week the 20-year-old from Victoria, B.C., had multi-point nights in each of them as the GM Ice Dogs skated to a pair of victories.

The Dryden forward began with a goal and an assist in a home triumph over Red Lake then duplicated his efforts two nights later in road decision in Fort Frances.

Coutre, a SIJHL All-Star, who won the fastest skater competition in that game’s skills competition, is playing at over a point-per-game pace for the GM Ice Dogs to date with 29 in 26 outings on 13 tallies and 16 helpers.

Also earning consideration for player of the week honours was Spencer Milne, (F) Red Lake Miners; Keighan Gerrie (F) Thunder Bay North Stars; Boe Bjorge, (F) Thief River Falls Norskies; Dane Bateman, (D) Fort Frances Lakers and Joshua Baker, (F) Minnesota Iron Rangers.
