Fort Frances thumps Dryden 7-0

FORT FRANCES, Ont. – A game after having a lengthy winning streak snapped in a shootout, the Fort Frances Lakers were all business in their latest outing as they dismantled the Dryden GM Ice Dogs 7-0 Friday night in Superior International Junior Hockey League at Ice for Kids Arena.

Ryley Bosman staked the Lakers to the lead midway through the opening period with the lone tally in the session.

Fort Frances added to their cushion in the middle frame as they tacked on a trio of markers recorded by Dylan Robertson, via the power play, as well as Andrew Willner and Dylan Kooner at even strength to go up by four after 40 minutes.

The Lakers then put the game away in the third adding three more to finish off the romp as Dustin Deugau, Christian Ripley and Robertson again all found the back of the net to round out the scoring in the one-sided defeat.

Julian Uhryniuk dished out three assists to aid the Fort Frances cause while Carter Chorney and Cole Tymkin had two helpers apiece for the winning side.

Pierce Dushenko stopped all 34 shots he faced to register his league-leading third shutout of the season for the Lakers.

Taylor Unruh faced 26 attempts in defeat for Dryden.
