Fort Frances; Dryden tabbed in CJHL rankings

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The latest edition of the Canadian Junior Hockey League rankings announced Monday sees a pair of Superior International Junior Hockey League teams earning national attention.

The two-time defending Bill Salonen Cup SIJHL champion Fort Frances Lakers were slotted 16th overall in the 131-team CJHL while the Dryden GM Ice Dogs secured honourable mention status in the listings, which are compiled in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

Both the Lakers and GM Ice Dogs share the top winning percentage in the SIJHL at .800 with 4-1 records to begin the season.

There is also a new No. 1 side in the CJHL this week with the 11-0 Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) taking over top spot.

Slipping one notch to No. 2 is the 10-0 Spruce Grove Saints (AJHL) while the unbeaten 7-0 Powassan Voodoos (NOJHL) jumped eight spots to third overall.
