Fort Frances 6th; Dryden honourable mention in CJHL rankings

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The latest Canadian Junior Hockey League Pointstreak top 20 rankings were announced Monday and two Superior International Junior Hockey League clubs earned recognition.

The SIJHL-leading Fort Frances Lakers were slotted sixth in the 131-team CJHL while the Dryden GM Ice Dogs garnered honourable mention status in the listings, which are compiled in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

Fort Frances boasts the best record in the SIJHL entering play this week having gone 19-3-0-1 overall while second place Dryden sports a 16-5-1-2 mark.

Both teams remain hot as of late with the Lakers going 8-1-0-1 in their past 10 outings with the GM Ice Dogs having gone 7-1-0-2 in the same time frame.

Rolling along as the No. 1 side in the CJHL is the Penticton Vees (BCHL) with the Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) surpassing the Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL) as those two sides flip-flopped to No. 2 and No. 3 respectively.

Rounding out the top five in the CJHL this week are the Spruce Grove Saints (AJHL) at No. 4 and the defending RBC Cup champion Portage Terriers (MJHL) at No. 5.
