THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Dryden GM Ice Dogs forward Eric Stout has been selected its Play It Again Sports Player of the Week for the period ending March 3.
In four road contests during the time frame, the Brainerd, Minn., product produced goals and points in each of them helping Dryden go 3-1 for the week.
Stout, who is in his final season on Jr. A hockey, tallied five times and helped set-up three others for his side.
Currently riding an impressive 12-game scoring streak, where he has recorded 13 tallies and 11 helpers during his run to move to seventh in SIJHL offensive numbers on 36 goals and as many assists.
Stout is also just six points shy of 200 in his SIJHL career and should he accomplish that feat, he’ll become just the ninth player in league history to do so.
Also earning consideration for player of the week honours was Dougie Newhouse, (G) Thunder Bay North Stars; Blake Nelson, (F) Thief River Falls Norskies; Bryce Young, (F) Red Lake Miners; Jacob Gnidziejko, (G) Fort Frances Lakers and Joshua Baker, (F) Minnesota Iron Rangers.
