Dryden takes goaltender’s battle against Wisconsin

DRYDEN, Ont. – Dryden GM Ice Dogs goaltender Knute Loe stopped all 40 shots he faced to record his first Superior International Junior Hockey League shutout as he backstopped his side to a narrow 2-0 triumph over visiting Wisconsin Lumberjacks Wednesday evening at Memorial Arena.

It was a goaltender’s battle throughout with Loe and Wisconsin starter Hunter Adams keeping opposing players at bay well past the midway point of the contest.

The GM Ice Dogs finally broke the ice at 16:55 of the middle session thanks to defenceman Dylan DiTomaso.

Neither squad would capitalize again until late in regulation when Di Tomaso helped secure the home ice triumph by putting one into an empty net in the final minute.

Since joining Dryden in early November, the 18-year-old defenceman is playing at a point-per-game pace with 10 in as many outings, including six tallies.

Adams was also strong for the Lumberjacks, despite the defeat, as he handled all but one of the 32 attempts he faced in the match-up.
