Bombers Double Up On Miners

The Sioux Lookout Bombers travelled uo the 105 to make their first appearance at the Cochenour Arena. Jake Manners would start in net for the Bombers while Jack Osmond would get the start for the Miners.

The Bombers would get an early jump on the Miners for holding pressure but after some time the Miners would start to get some back.  Blake Burke would get the Bombers on the scoresheet first at 16:57 taking a pass from his brother and beating Osmond for a 1-0 Bombers lead.  Miners would tie it up at 1 on the power play courtesy of Jacob Lamoureux’s league leading 17th goal of the season at 19:19.  After 20 minutes of play the game was tied at 1.

Second period action saw the Bombers take the lead at 5:30 as Owen Riffel would bang home a deflected puck past a helpless Osmond.  Kyle Schechtel would tie the game  at 2  at 10:53 scoring his 5th of the season.  Both goalies would do their part and after 40 minutes the game was tied at 2.

The Bombers would start putting on more pressure in the third period holding an early edge for shots on goal.  At 9:59 Ty Bahm was the lead Bomber in a 2 on 0 and would beat Osmond to restore a 1 goal lead.  With the Miners net empty for the extra attacker and. a 6 on 4 situation Ty Lone would break up a cross ice pass and race ahead of the Miners defence to put it in the empty cage.  Lone’s goal was a shorthanded marker and his second of the season.  Final score Bombers 4 Miners 2.
