THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. – The Thief River Falls Norskies broke open a tie game with a trio of third period tallies to defeat the Fort Frances Lakers 4-1 Saturday in front of a Superior International Junior Hockey League-season-high 2,067 fans at Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Fort Frances did get on the board first in this one as Colton Bodnar connected late in the opening frame.

Alec Daman drew the Norskies level with the lone marker of the middle session, which came at 6:50.

Daman then added another four and half minutes into the third as his second of the night and sixth overall proved to be the game-winner.

Nick Harder added some insurance for Thief River Falls at 17:30 before Mason McIntosh iced the home win with an empty netter with 34 seconds remaining.

Both Daman and McIntosh finished with three-point nights for the Norskies.

Shots on goal in the contest favoured the home side by a 32-28 count with Bailey Schmitz picking up the win while Matt Booth suffered the loss.
