Zajicek returns to Lakers line-up for 2016-17

FORT FRANCES, Ont. — The Fort Frances Lakers have announce that defenseman Brandon Zajicek will again be in uniform for our program next season.

The 19-year-old Albertville, Minn., product saw action in 35 games for Fort Frances last season and scored six times and added 17 assists for 23 points.

Zajicek also dished out four helpers in 11 playoff contests helping the club on both ends of the ice as they skated to another Bill Salonen Cup SIJHL championship.

“Brandon returns after playing a top four role for us last season,” stated Lakers’ head coach and general manager Wayne Strachan.

“He is a good offensive defenseman who we will look to for leadership in our back end this season,” addec Strachan.

“Brandon is a team guy and wants the best for his team and team mates. He isn’t afraid to get his nose dirty, his defensive game improved and he is ready to have a strong year.”
