SIJHL regular season concludes with North Stars win

THUNDER BAY, Ont.  – A Jerid Adamson goal midway through the contest proved to be the game-winner as the Thunder Bay North Stars edged the visiting Fort Frances Lakers 3-2 Wednesday in the Superior International Junior Hockey League regular season finale at the Fort William Gardens.

Cary Brown opened the scoring for Thunder Bay just 18 seconds after the puck drop only to see Jacob Nolan connect on the power play at 3:30 to even things up for the Lakers.

Bryce Maggrah put the North Stars back on top half way through the first, but Fort Frances tied it once again as Davis Smith recorded his 15th tally of the season in the late stages of the frame.

Adam Restoule had a pair of assists for the Stars in the win, including setting up Adamson for the winner, in the second session.

Jayme Brattengeier turned aside 34 of 36 shots he faced to pick up the win in net for Thunder Bay while Talor Joseph faced 27 attempts in a losing cause for the Lakers.
