SIJHL referee Nigel Black added to work RBC Cup

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League has announced referee Nigel Black has been added to the officiating crew for the RBC Cup Canadian Jr. ‘A’ Championship, currently underway in Cobourg, Ont.

Black joins SIJHL linesmen Braeden Prete, who was earlier appointed to work the event.

The SIJHL referee just wrapped up working the Dudley-Hewitt Cup Central Jr. A event earlier this month in Trenton, Ont.

“We at the SIJHL congratulate Nigel on his appointment, as he and Braeden have earned the opportunity to officiate at the national stage and be among the top officials from right across Canada chosen for the top Jr. A event in the country,” offered league commissioner Bryan Graham.

All round robin games and both semifinals contests can be viewed online at hockeycanada.ca/rbccup.

The championship game will be televised live on TSN Sunday at 5 p.m.
