SIJHL announces suspensions

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Superior International Junior Hockey League Commissioner Bryan Graham announced the following suspensions resulting from incidents during SIJHL Game No. 96, Fort Frances Lakers @ Minnesota Iron Rangers, played on Wednesday, Jan. 11:

GRAY ERWIN, MINNESOTA IRON RANGERS – THREE (3) GAMES

Player is suspended for two games under CJHL Supplement Rule 3.1 for incurring a major penalty and subsequent game misconduct for checking from behind. Player is also suspended one additional one game under Hockey Canada Rule 8.4 (b) for incurring a game misconduct in the final 10 minutes of the game.

The suspension will be served during the following games:

SIJHL Game 99: Saturday, Jan. 14 @ Fort Frances
SIJHL Game 104: Wednesday, Jan. 18 @ Thief River Falls
SIJHL Game 110: Tuesday, Jan. 24 vs. Fort Frances

COLE THOMPSON, MINNESOTA IRON RANGERS – ONE (1) GAME

Player is suspended for one game under Hockey Canada Rule 8.4 (b) for incurring a game misconduct in the final 10 minutes of the game.

The suspension will be served during the following game:

SIJHL Game 99: Saturday, Jan. 14 @ Fort Frances
