SIJHL announces North Stars – Miners semifinal schedule
THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Tuesday the game schedule for its upcoming semifinal series between the No. 2 seeded Thunder Bay North Stars and No. 3 English River Miners.
All games will feature a 7:30 p.m. start time.
This best-of-seven affair will commence Saturday, April 1 at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay.
The North Stars will also host Game 2 on Sunday, April 2.
From there the series will shift to Cochenour Arena in Red Lake where the Miners will have home ice for Games 3 & 4 Wednesday, April 5 and Thursday, April 6.
Should a fifth match-up be required, it would be held on Saturday, April 8 back at the Gardens.
If necessary, Game 6 would be held on Monday, April 10 at Cochenour Arena.
Then if the series goes the distance, Game 7 is slated for Wednesday, April 12 at the Gardens in Thunder Bay.
SIJHL postseason play begins tonight as the Thief River Falls Norskies take on the Fort Frances Lakers in Game 1 of their best-of-five quarter-final play-in series at Ralph Engelstad Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
The winner of that series will meet the No. 1 seed, the Dryden GM Ice Dogs, in the league’s other semifinal.
