North Stars Thrower; Lakers Robertson named co-Amyotte’s Awards & Promotions players of the week

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Tuesday that forwards Bradley Thrower of the Thunder Bay North Stars and Dylan Robertson of the Fort Frances Lakers has been named the co-Amyotte’s Awards & Promotions Corp. players of the week for the period ending Oct. 11.

Both Thrower and Robertson were instrumental in helping their respective clubs skate to a pair of victories apiece last week.

For the 18-year-old Thrower he began his week by notching his first career SIJHL hat trick, which also included the game-winner as his hometown Thunder Bay side defeated the English River Miners 6-4 Friday at the Fort William Gardens.

One night later he notched his second straight decider as he scored the lone goal of the game in a dramatic 1-0 overtime decision over the Miners.

As for Robertson, he too supplied the game-winner in both of the Lakers games last week while picking up seven points along the way.

Against the Dryden GM Ice Dogs on Oct. 6, the 20-year-old who hails from Atlanta, Georgia, struck twice and assisted once in regulation and buried the difference maker in OT as Fort Frances skated to a 6-5 win.

Saturday night Robertson once again added the winning goal and doled out a pair of helpers as the Lakers defeated Minnesota 5-3 on home ice as he extended a consecutive game point streak to five.
