Norskies’ Buttazzoni commits to Williston State Tetons in North Dakota

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. – The Thief River Falls Norskies of the Superior International Junior Hockey League has announced that goaltender Ryan Buttazzoni has committed to attend Williston State College in North Dakota and play for the Tetons’ men’s program starting in the fall.

Williston State is members of the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

The Hinton, Alta., product wrapped up his final year of Jr. A hockey with Thief River Falls where he led all SIJHL goaltenders in minutes played at 2,285 during the course of the regular season.

Buttazzoni was also fourth overall in the league in wins with 20 posting a record of 20-12-2-3.

The Norskies netminder also had a 3.26 goals-against average along with a .911 save percentage and one shutout.

“We are excited to help move Ryan on,” stated Thief River Falls’ general manager Kevin McCallum.

“He was a great leader and goaltender for us in our first year,” added McCallum.

“We know Ryan will move on and be successful in hockey and in life. Thief River Falls will truly miss this guy.”

Buttazzoni becomes the second member of the Norskies to commit to a collegiate program joining Reily McIntosh with be off to the State University of New York – Canton where he’ll go to school and skate for the Kanagroos men’s hockey program.
