Miners’ Kromm and Robinson commit to University of Jamestown in ACHA

EAR FALLS, Ont. – The English River Miners of the Superior International Junior Hockey League are pleased to announce that forwards Bryan Kromm and Destin Robinson have committed to play collegiate hockey in the U.S. next season and attend the University of Jamestown in North Dakota in time for the school’s inaugural season in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

The 2016-17 campaign will mark the first year of the men’s hockey program at the Jamestown, N.D.-based school as they’ll compete in the Division 1 conference of the ACHA under head coach Dean Stork.

Kromm and Robinson are both in their final season of Jr. A hockey in the SIJHL.

The pair of 20-year-olds hail from Penticton, B.C. and Ponoka, Alta., respectively.

In 45 games so far this season, Kromm, the Miners team captain, has one goal and nine assists to his credit while Robinson has tallied three times and set-up five others for eight points in 46 outings for English River.

Kromm is the son of former NHLer and minor league head coach Rich Kromm while his grandfather is former Detroit Red Wings head coach Bobby Kromm.

“Good luck to Bryan and Destin who live our Humility, Integrity, Courage team motto daily,” stated Miners’ head coach and general manager Derek Sweet-Coulter.

“The entire organization thanks them for their hard work in English River, not only on the ice, but in the community,” added Sweet-Coulter.

“There isn’t two more deserving young men. We wish them all the best!”
