Lakers re-signs forward Kevin Kurm

FORT FRANCES – The Fort Frances Lakers of the SIJHL have announced they have re-signed forward Kevin Kurm for the 2013-14 season.

In 44 games during the course of the 2012-13 campaign the 18-year Thunder Bay product had 29 points, including 15 tallies, of which three were game-winners.

Kurm also stepped up his offensive game in a big way in the postseason finishing third among all skaters in SIJHL playoff scoring this past season with 13 points in as many outings scoring six times and setting-up seven others.

“Kevin will be a key part of our team this season,” stated Fort Frances head coach and general manager Wayne Strachan.

“He will play a big role up front and the team is hoping he can build on his 2013 playoff run which saw him finish second in scoring for the Lakers. He is a fast forward who can find the net and we will need him to be firing on all cylinders to help our overall success this year.”
