Lakers D-man Gazich commits to NCAA’s Gustavus Adolphus

FORT FRANCES, Ont. – The Fort Frances Lakers of the Superior International Junior Hockey League has announced that defenceman Ryan Gazich has committed to attend school at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Petter, Minn., as well as play for the Gusties men’s hockey program that competes out of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

“Ryan is very deserving of this commitment,” stated Fort Frances head coach and general manager Wayne Strachan.

“Ryan worked hard to improve his game over the two seasons he was with our hockey team,” added Strachan.

“He is a class act of the ice and a leader on the ice. If he commits his time he will have a good college career.”

In 97 career SIJHL contests with the Lakers, the 21-year-old native of Eagan, Minn., amassed 44 overall points on five goals and 39 assists.
