Iron Rangers defeat Miners 6-4
EAR FALLS – Adam Schoenfeld, Matt Audet and Trevor Hoth all tallied twice to help propel the Minnesota Iron Rangers to a 6-4 victory over the English River Miners Thursday evening in Superior International Junior Hockey League play at Ear Falls Arena.
Wil Wickersham, Bryson Jasper, Spencer Johnston and Taylor Bargar scored for English River in a contest that was tied 1-1 after one period and 4-4 after 40 minutes.
The game remained tied until a minute and 22 seconds to go in regulation when Hoth notched the game-winner.
Audet then iced it in the final minute with an empty net effort.
Alex Riechle made 33 saves to register the victory for Minnesota while Greg Harney faced 51 shots in a losing cause.
