Ice Dogs blast Wilderness

SPOONER, Wis. – The Dryden Ice Dogs scored early and often as they rolled to an 11-3 drubbing of the  Wisconsin Wilderness in a Superior International Junior Hockey League contest held Thursday evening at the Spooner Ice House.

Dryden was led offensively by multiple skaters most notably Synee Coonishish who fired a hat-trick and added an assist in the romp.

Chris Sitco also had a big night for the Ice Dogs tallying twice and setting up two others while Dane Feeney added a pair of markers and an assist.

Solo goals went to Chris Belhumeur, Zach Kercz, Jarrett Day and Chris Varrin.

Meanwhile Derek McPhail and Adam Smith doled out three helpers apiece.

Alex Rezansoff scored twice for Wisconsin and Shane Billings had the other.

Shayne Dietl picked up the win in net for Dryden while Brendan Manquen suffered the loss for the Wilderness allowing five against on before giving way to Griffin Strain the rest of the way.
