GM Ice Dogs appoint Wayne Labrie director of hockey operations and scouting

DRYDEN, Ont. – The Dryden GM Ice Dogs of the Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Tuesday the appointment of Wayne Labrie as their director of hockey operations and scouting.

Labrie brings with him with a wealth of hockey experience having served nine years behind the bench in Junior A as the head coach and general manager of the SJHL’s with Kindersley Klippers, Lloydminster Blazers and a brief stint with the Ice Dogs in their early inception to the SIJHL.

Most recently, he has been head scout/director of hockey operations for the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Calgary Canucks.

Prior to that Labrie worked five seasons with another AJHL side in the Drumheller Dragons.

The defending SIJHL Bill Salonen Cup champion GM Ice Dogs will host the 2018 Dudley-Hewitt Cup Central Canada Jr. A Championship next May at Dryden’s Memorial Arena.
