Fort Frances; Dryden tabbed in CJHL rankings

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The top two teams in the Superior International Junior Hockey League garnered recognition in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League weekly Pointstreak Top 20 rankings announced Monday.

The SIJHL-leading Fort Frances Lakers jumped five places to No. 5 overall in the 131-team CJHL while the Dryden GM Ice Dogs earned honourable mention status in the listings compiled in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

Winners of seven straight games, Fort Frances has gone 14-2 overall this season and sit in top spot in the league standings with 28 points.

Fresh off a two-game weekend road sweep of Minnesota, Dryden raised their record to 11-4-1 and trails the first place Lakers by just five points.

Winners of 19 contests in succession, the Penticton Vees (BCHL) remain the No. 1 side in the CJHL this week.

The Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL) and Portage Terriers (MJHL) round out the top three clubs in the CJHL this week.
