Fort Frances 5th; Dryden honourable mention in initial CJHL rankings of 2016

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced their initial Pointstreak top 20 rankings of 2016 Monday and a pair of Superior International Junior Hockey League clubs garnered recognition.

The surging Fort Frances Lakers were tabbed fifth in the 131-team CJHL while the Dryden GM Ice Dogs earned honourable mention status in the rankings, which are produced in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

Riding an eight-game winning streak, Fort Frances remains one of the hottest squads in the CJHL boasting a SIJHL-best record of 25-3-0-1 to sit atop the league standings.

Dryden meanwhile sits second in the SIJHL with a 20-7-2-2 mark, seven points in arrears of the first place Lakers.

The Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) remain the No. 1 ranked team in the CJHL to begin the new year while the Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL), Penticton Vees (BCHL) and Portage Terriers (MJHL) join Fort Frances in the top five in second, third and fourth respectively.
