Dryden victorious over English River

DRYDEN, Ont. – A quick start and a strong finish helped send the Dryden GM Ice Dogs to a 4-1 victory over the English River Miners Friday night in Superior International Junior Hockey League action at Memorial Arena.

Dryden opened the scoring three and a half minutes into the game thanks to Eric Stout’s 17th goal of the season.

The GM Ice Dogs’ Trey Palermo added another for the home side later in the first period as his 10th of the campaign made it 2-0.

After a scoreless second stanza, the Miners got on the board nearly six minutes into the third on a Brody Jennings effort.

However Dryden came right back 55 seconds later on a Brendan Jay blast that beat English River netminder Westin Cardwell.

Jacen Bracko then wrapped things up offensively for the GM Ice Dogs at 14:22 to round out the night’s scoring.

Landon Pavlisin made 32 saves along the way to post the win for Dryden while Cardwell faced 47 shots in a losing cause for the Miners.
