Dryden rolls past Minnesota
DRYDEN, Ont. – The Dryden GM Ice Dogs got three goals from Matt Houston and a 24-save shutout from Taylor Unruh to blank the Minnesota Iron Rangers 6-0 in a Superior International Junior Hockey League match-up Sunday at Memorial Arena.
Dryden picked up the only marker they would need on the night 11:23 into the contest on an unassisted effort from Nathan Avery.
The GM Ice Dogs broke it open in the middle session as they tacked on a trio of tallies off the sticks Braedyn Aubin, Matt Houston and Avery to take a 4-0 cushion into the final frame.
In the third Houston notched two more to complete his hat trick and secure the win.
Anthony Pupplo faced 36 shots in defeat for the Iron Rangers.
SIJHL action continues Monday as the Thunder Bay North Stars host the league-leading Fort Frances Lakers at the Fort William Gardens. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
This is a make-up contest from one that was postponed earlier in the season due to weather.
