6-point nights for Lakers’ Lipinski & Debenedet in romp over Ice Dogs

DRYDEN, Ont. – A night after blasting the Dryden Ice Dogs on home ice the Fort Frances Lakers took their potent offence on the road Saturday as they skated to a 9-3 victory in Superior International Junior Hockey League play at Memorial Arena.

Lyndon Lipinski and Lucas Debenedet both had big nights for the Lakers in this one notching six points apiece with Lipinski supplying a hat-trick and dishing out three assists while Debenedet had a goal and five helpers.

Mason Meyer had a three-goal night of his own for Fort Frances with Aaron Wesley-Chisel and Miles Nolan supplied singles.

Kyle Lipinski chipped in with a pair of helpers in the one-sided decision.

Chris Belhumeur, Synee Coonishish and Derek McPhail replied for Dryden in the loss.

Jordan Cartney picked up the win in net making 20 saves for the first place Lakers, who improved to 26-3-0-2 with the victory.

Shayne Dietl faced 42 shots in a losing cause for Dryden as they dropped to 16-18-0-2 in defeat.

The SIJHL now enters its Christmas holiday break with game action set to resume Jan. 3.
