4 points for Grzelewski in North Stars win over Wilderness

SPOONER, Wis. – Zach Grzelewski scored twice and set-up two others to help propel the Thunder Bay North Stars past the Wisconsin Wilderness 6-3 Sunday evening in Superior International Junior Hockey League play at the Spooner Ice House.

Thunder Bay took a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes on markers by Matthias Gardiman and Grzelewski.

Wisconsin cut the deficit in half with the lone marker of the middle stanza as Tanner Vinson found the back of the net on the power play.

After Cary Brown made it 3-1 North Stars early in the third, Barrett Nelson brought the home side back to within one at 5:25.

Gardiman then connected twice in short order for Thunder Bay to finish off a hat-trick making it 5-2 with half a period to play.

Grzelewski added some incurance late before Darrick Horward notched one final tally for Wisconsin to round out the scoring.

Eric Mann picked up the win for Thunder Bay and Zann Anderson suffered the loss.

Next up on the SIJHL schedule sees the North Stars heading to Ear Falls Tuesday to take on the English River Miners in a 7 p.m. start.
